Pingala was an ancient Indian Writer (200BC). He developed advanced mathematical concepts for describing the patterns of prosody (the study of rhythm, intonation, stress, and related attributes in speech). Within his most famous work "Chandas Shastra" he describes the binary numeral system in connection to poetic structure (Vedic or Sanskrit Meter). Latter day writers developed the binary system further and this is the system used internally by all modern computers.
As Pingala's work is the basis on which today's Digital Media is built, we felt it was a fitting name representing knowledge, quality and integrity that are the key deliverables that make a strong, well-defined business model.
"Shastra" (Chandas Shastra) means "the knowledge", which is based on principles that are held to be timeless.
At Pingala Media we follow these principles coupled with cutting edge design and development, helping us stand out from the crowd within the Digital Media field
